Hello fans & supporters of CDP Ponferrada, it’s Taévaunn Prince.
This message is for all the supporters & fans that have been a part of this journey for the last two years, and those who are recent/new fans as well. I appreciate you all for coming to our games, showing your dedication to the team and myself.
Being from Canada/Jamaica you, guys, have accepted me with open arms. Even with the language barrier you all try your best to communicate with me and I love it… But trust my Spanish is getting better, haha.
The treatment I receive from you all is appreciated and I feel the love genuinely, and it helps me embrace the Spanish culture being a foreigner. I put my blood, sweat and tears into the game of basketball, and work very hard in the summer to come out and perform during the regular season, so I’m thankful that my hard work pays off and you all appreciate it as well.
When I decided to come back to Ponferrada in November of 2019, the love and support I received from you all from last season was a strong factor in my decision. I made a goal of mine, with my prayers to God daily, to help this team climb from the bottom of the classification of this “West Group” to the top and be amongst the respected of the league, and, of course, God answered my prayers that is where my confidence stems from.
But the work is not over. Now we have another challenge ahead of us… I am a very super competitive guy in all aspects of life so, although this is a historic accomplishment for the city and the club, I am on the next mission mentally in competing in the A1 phase of the league. Hard work, dedication and focus will be the key to success I believe while remaining humble.
Our fans support has been great and maybe we can make Ponferrada into a basketball city, hahaha. But, thus far, I just want to thank you, fans and supporters, personally through this letter, for all the cheering, screaming and encouragement from the good days and the bad days, the wins and the looses. I love you all and let’s make this A1 phase of the season memorable. VAMOSSS!!!!

Hola fans y aficionados de CB Ciudad de Ponferrada. Soy Taévaunn Prince.
Este mensaje va para todos los aficionados y fans que han formado parte de este viaje en los últimos dos años, y también a aquellos que son nuevos fans. Os aprecio a todos por venir a nuestros partidos mostrando vuestro compromiso con el equipo y conmigo.
Siendo de Canadá /Jamaica, tíos, me habéis aceptado con los brazos abiertos, e incluso con la barrera idiomática todos intentáis dar lo mejor de vosotros para comunicaros conmigo y me encanta… Pero confiad en que mi español está mejorando, jaja.
Aprecio el trato que recibo de todos vosotros y siento vuestro amor genuino, lo que ayuda a que abrace la cultura española siendo un extranjero. Pongo mi sangre, sudor y lágrimas en el baloncesto y trabajo muy duro en verano para aparecer y mejorar durante la temporada regular, así que estoy agradecido de que el trabajo duro valga la pena y todos vosotros lo apreciéis igualmente.
Cuando opto por volver a Ponferrada en noviembre de 2019, el amor y apoyo recibido de todos vosotros la temporada anterior fue un factor importante a la hora de tomar la decisión. Me marqué como objetivo personal, con mis oraciones diarias a Dios, ayudar al equipo a ascender desde el fondo de la clasificación del grupo “Oeste” a la parte alta, estar entre los respetados de la liga y, por supuesto, Dios respondió a mis oraciones, que es de donde procede mi confianza.
Pero el trabajo no ha finalizado. Ahora tenemos otro desafío delante nuestra… Soy un tipo super competitivo en todos los aspectos de la vida, así que, a pesar que éste es un logro histórico para la ciudad y el club, mentalmente ya estoy en la siguiente misión de competir en el grupo “A1” de la liga. El trabajo duro, la dedicación y la concentración serán las claves del éxito en las que creo, al tiempo que sigamos manteniendo la humildad.
El apoyo de nuestros fans ha sido enorme y tal vez podamos convertir Ponferrada en una ciudad de baloncesto, jajaja. Pero hasta ese momento simplemente quiero agradeceros, fans y aficionados, personalmente y a través de esta carta, todos los ánimos, gritos y apoyos en los buenos y en los malos días, en las victorias y las derrotas.
Os quiero a todos. Hagamos que esta parte de la temporada, en el grupo “A1”, sea memorable. ¡¡¡¡VAMOSSS!!!!
